Peanuts Halloween 1960: Linus' belief in the Great Pumpkin is put to the test

"Peanuts" readers in 1960 got over two weeks' worth of Halloween comic strips, from October 20 through November 4.  Linus continues to be the Great Pumpkins' evangelist, but he's still having a hard time selling the idea.  His sister, Lucy, doesn't want to hear any more of it, and challenges Linus to explain the difference between the Great Pumpkin and Santa Claus.

Linus does have a victory in 1960, though: he convinces his friend, Charlie Brown, to not only write a letter to the Great Pumpkin, but he convinces him to spend Halloween night with him in the pumpkin patch.

Unfortunately, Linus' belief in the Great Pumpkin is ultimately questioned when the Great Pumpkin doesn't show up.  He ends up writing a book about the experience.
